Photography Report Card 2014
The highlight of 2014 was my annual professional photography (AIPP) results. At the State level I was a finalist in the Landscape, Travel and Illustrative categories and received my first Gold Award. At the National level I achieved my second Masters Award which is represented by a tiny “gold” bar and a “1” after my M Photog designation. This year I joined the portfolio assessment panel of the AIPP which evaluates new photographers work for admittance to full membership of the Institute.
At last the planned exhibition by the City of Melbourne of photos taken in St Petersburg took place at the Victorian Artist Society Gallery in East Melbourne to coincide with the 25th anniversary of the City of Melbourne / City of St Petersburg Sister City relationship.
The biggest event affecting my photographic future was our permanent move to Castlemaine in November – a new market, new landscapes, and an in house studio and gallery. As part of the planning process for the new business I attended Julian Walker’s two day marketing workshop in November.
Already two exhibitions are in place for 2015 – the Castlemaine State Festival in March and the Ballarat Foto Biennale in August / September.
